My computer froze while I was in the midst of upgrading from Windows XP Home
to Pro and now my computer is in a constant reboot loop. I've tried the
following things to help, but to no avail:

Press F8: tried, safe mode (all options) same reboot issue
Press F8: tried, restoring to last known good boot (all options) same
reboot issue
Press F12 to boot to Windows XP Pro CD: tried to continue install and
received an error stating to restart computer--same reboot issue.

I can't get back into my computer with anything I try. Can anyone help.

Signed,
Desperate!!!

Hello Jupiter Jones:

Thanks so much for the information. I tried to run a repair installation
and boot from my Windows XP Pro CD; however, I get the following message:

It states you are in the middle of an existing upgrade, would you like to :

1. Continue with your current upgrade (press enter)--when I press enter I
get the following error: Error 0x000000ED (0x82B4EC08, 0xc0000006,
0x00000000, 0x00000000

2. Press F10 to run a new install of Windows (afraid of losing data if I
select this option)

3. Press F3 to reboot (goes back into looping problem)

Do you have any other suggestions that I might be able to try?

Thank you for the help--I really appreciate it.

Wendi

My personal opinion would be just to Format your hard drive and start from
scratch, even if you do get it up and running, I would be willing to bet
you're going to have nothing but errors when you try to do anything. If you
have a clean install there shouldn't be any problems. If it still freezing
when you install windows after a new format my guess is you have some bad
hardware. Possible things are hard drive, memory, CPU, or motherboard. Most
likely it's one of the first two. I bet however the problem will go away on a
clean install, that fixes most problems like that. That's just my suggestion
you can see if anyone else has a better one.
