computer hangs up after install sp2

Hello

I had to do a clean install of Windows XP Home edition sp1a and when i
installed sp2 from my sp2 cd-rom that i ordered from microsoft here awhile
back my computer hung up at the part where the little green lights scroll by
under the xp logo screen , it would hang everytime i tried to boot up , so i
done another clean install(XP) figuring i could get it from windows update ,
well when windows update scans for updates sp2 is not listed , what to do now?
