I have spent a week trying to solve this with MS techs in the UK,
CASE_ID_NUM: SRQ060302600093
My system has been run riot with a wide range of potential fixes, suggested
by the MS tech I have been dealing with.
On Tuesday I spent nearly the whole day on the phone trying to solve this.
Guess work sums it up.
Ended up doing a XP repair and that didn't work either.
The last suggestion was to perform a parallel install of windows to another
folder on my PC but I refused to do this as the whole thing has turned into
trial and error, with me, the paying customer suffering all consequences.
The more people who post, the more likely this problem will get resolved.
The most interesting and frightening comment I have read so far is how this
is even affecting BRAND NEW PCs!!!
From the other thread:
""I have just experienced the same symptom as I prepared a brand new PC for
one of my customers. Right after WGA is installed and I select Custom or
Express the system locks.
This is a fresh install of WinXP Pro SP2 on a Foxconn NF4UK8AA motherboard
with nVidia nForce chipset and network controller. Any chance the hardware
is a problem?""
