I had a computer that kept locking up totally, first it was the mouse, then
it was the keyboard If you unplugged the usb mouse and plugged it back in it
would sometimes come back. Most of the time you would have to reboot. So I
thought it may be the system board. I rebuilt the computer completely. New
MB, Processor, ram, hard drives, dvd burner, video card, mouse, keyboard,
case, power supply. everything is new but the floppy drive. Reloaded Vista
now the computer is locking up again, and you have to reboot every time, to
get it back. There are no virus or spyware, trojons or anything like that.
I have only had the new system up and running for a week and run antivirus
and spyware daily. All updates are up to date. Any suggestions or should I go
back to XP I have had no problems with it. Only after I put Vista on the
original system, and the new system.

List your hardware, software and anti-virus details here, and you will get
helpful answers. We have to know the components of your system to advise you.

So far this sounds exactly like the issue I have, were you able to get
this resolved? My specs are

Foxconn 975X7AA-8EKRS2H LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard,
Intel Pentium D 950 Presler 3.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80553950,

OCZ Value Series 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2
5400)OCZ26671024V,
EVGA 320-P2-N815-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express
x16,
SILVERSTONE SST-ST56ZF ATX12V / EPS12V 560Watts Power Supply, and
Microsoft Windows Vista 32-Bit Ultimate for System Builders Single Pack
DVD - OEM.

Basicly its as they posted it locks up anywhere from like 2 -10 minutes
during random processes. Any suggestions on how to pinpoint the issue
would be great. I am at work on a PC while the aforementioned PC is
running memtest 86 at home for the next 10 hours or so. Thanks in
advance!
