Computer names.

I have an XP laptop and a Vista laptop. Each has its own computer name
and user name. I wish to swap these two laptops between the current
two users. I want e-mails to come to the laptops of each new user.

I assume that all I have to do is swap the computer names and user
names. Is this correct? If not, what other changes must I make? As a
broader issue I am looking at the Windows Transfer utility in order to
transfer my settings and files from the XP to the Vista but I have not
done this yet.

Thank you,

Peter.

Email doesn't look at computer names. It goes to whatever email address
it's sent with. Change the email accounts on both machines, swapping the
user name and email addresses (and passwords if necessary) and you'll be OK.

Easy. You need to reconfigure the email clients.

No, it isn't. This will have precisely zero effect on the mail service.

You need to enter the correct settings in the email clients, which have
nothing at all to do with the computer name or user names.

How exactly you do this depends on the mail clients in use.
