Computer Not Restarting Properly

Our machines are configured to turn on automatically at 2am in the morning
and Automatic Updates is scheduled to install at 3am. When an update is
installed which requires a restart, come in the next morning 9am and the
computer screen is black, move the mouse and the monitor wakes up and the
Windows is stuck on window "Windows is shutting down" a few seconds later it
will finish restarting.

After searching for days on google I cannot find anything on this issue. We
are running XP SP2 with hibernation turned off and Automatic updates set to
restart automatically when no user is logged in.

Can anyone give me some ideas of why this is ocurring?

Thanks

Dean
