Computer reboots on bootup after Windows update of 10/10/06

After running security updates on 10/10/06, my WIN2000 machine continues to
reboot multiple times during boot-up. Sometimes it does succeed, but often
it reboots directly after it runs through the "applying security policy" etc
before the user login screen.

Any ideas what might cause this?
