Computer says I have XP SP2 installed but I don't!

So how do I download and install it? It crashed twice while attempting to
upgrade - each time missing a file (this all from download). Took the
computer with it. I have spent all day reloading the original XP. Think
I've lost E mail.

Download the entire XP_SP2 self-extracting file from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

to a location in your computer. Install from this file.

Start > Run > (type in) winver > [OK]

Copy what it says in a reply to this thread [e.g., Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 : Service Pack 2].

Does Windows or Automatic Update offer you WinXP SP2?
