Over the past month my computer (Vista Home Premium) has been getting slower and slower. This coincides with me downloading Spyware Doctor & Anti-Virus.
I then found out Windows Defender had been off for a few months.
I then downloaded a registry cleaner which said there were over 600 problems or threats.
It cleaned up about 60 of them and wanted money to sort out the rest.I didn't pay because i've started having problems downloading stuff and didn't want to waste the money.
I've since managed to download Microsoft Security Essentials, so i hope having no Defender isn't a problem now.
Trouble is, not getting an internet connection half the time or taking 20 minutes to connect in the other half, having MSE doesn't seem to stop my computer dying on me.
Sorry if this is a bit rambling, but i'm getting a bit desperate- i've only had the computer a year.
Hope somebody can help me out
