Computer wont shutdown after installing updates...?

I finally installed SP2 and it worked fine and then I installed the updates
and now my computer won't shutdown at all, it won't even start to shutdown.
Which update did this and what can I do to fix this?

I am a windows newbie of sorts, so take my advice with a grain of salt, (ie.
I don't know what SP2 is) but I had a problem with two updates recently:
KB918547, and KB891711

I could shut down but had to restart with CNT-ALT-DEL to shut down first.
There is another thread in this NG that is about a different problem with
these two updates, so you might want to search for it under 'Critical update
KB918547'....
I only found out these updates were causing my problem by using Dr. Watson
utility. Sorry I can't give you a good easy fix as I had just done a clean
install quick restore, so I just did it again, since I had nothing to lose
and deleting the updates didn't help much. I would wait to see if an MVP
expert can provide a less drastic fix.
