Greetings folks,
Noticed a few other similar threads about this topic, but wanted to
pose my situation in case anyone can shed any light.
I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I set my computer to sleep while I
went out for a few hours. When I returned, I hit a few random keys on
my keyboard (which usually brings vista back from sleep) and the pc
turned back on, but nothing appeared on my monitor. Monitor is plugged
in fine and is working fine (tested on my laptop), so I restarted the
pc. I had to hold the power button in for a few seconds because the
restart button no longer works. When the machine turned off, I waited a
short while and pressed the power button again. The pc turns on with a
beep for about 3/4 of a second as the machine comes on, but nothing
appears on the monitor, no bios booting up, nothing. There are no
further beeps or anything. I have tried removing the hard disks,
memory, graphics card one at a time and tried rebooting, but the same
thing happens.
Without the memory, graphics card, hard disk, should I be hearing more
beeps?
My spec :
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
Intel CPU Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz 1333FSB.
Asus Striker Extreme Quad Core motherboard.
OCZ 4GB Memory Kit (2x2048) Vista Performance Gold DDR2 PC2-6400 Dual
Channel Memory.
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 2900 XT 1GB GDDR4 PCI-E.
2 x 500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA II 300.
Thanks,
durks
