I ma wondering whether this is possible because of some of the posts appear
in these forums.
We all should give up using computers for a short while and start doing
simple things in life, like read some books or some thing.
Look what Vista has done to some people and in particular to Frank(The King
of all Vista fanboys), he was unable to read my name, his spelling is worse
than spell checker( I don't know whether he has one).
And look at some of the solutions given by some MVPs,it goes like this:
1.It is not Vista's fault, get help from your hardware manufacturer.
2.This is only a Vista forum go to manufacturer's help desk.
3.You paid for your PC why not spend another X amount and buy new Router.
4.Vista won't function with old hardware.
5.You do not need to know what Vista does, it takes care of your needs and
you simply press the buttons and Vista will do everything for you.
I can go on but I do not wish to bore you to death.
I very rarely get any constructive help from these MVPs, only one chap from
another forum gives proper answers and some brilliant Tutorials.
But you all can give it a go with a fantastic system called Ubuntu.

Well someone recently gave me a few MAC G3's with no operating system
and wanted to know if I could get them going.
I ended up installing Ubuntu on them and they work just fine now...
and the net cost was *zero* so there are some good reasons for using Linux

However, for the most part I prefer PC's and for what I do...
Win2k or XP fit the bill. But I use Linux at least part if the time and have
to admit it's not bad.

As to Vista...well it will probably not work too well on older H/W
but with new machines it's probably just fine.

Though computers do rule the world ...I don't let them rule my life...
and I still get *plenty* of time in for doing nothing other than reading a
good "old fashioned" book.

As little as 8 years ago I was using a typewriter and did not even own a
computer...
but to me...it's such a great tool for communicating and getting information
in a hurry...
I feel rather dependent on having one

No. We are protected by Microsoft and their operating system. The
computers can't take over because even they can't figure it out.

Honest guys I have learned to like Vista. I suspect the if those who
hate it would spend half as much time learning how to use it as the spend
slamming it, they would like it too. They are acting like grandpa who would
rather ride a hose. (BTW I am a grandpa.)

Why do you believe that these points aren't good advice? Does it occur to
you that when millions of people aren't having a certain problem and someone
shows up with XYZ video card that it probably isn't a bug in the OS and the
hardware/driver needs support from the third party vendor? Like any OS Vista
has certain requirements and if you don't meet them then you are definitely
"on your own" as far as getting support for known configurations. nVidia
drivers caused over 30% of all BSODs in 2007, and if you have a Dell, go to
their forums and good luck to you.

I can think of only five or so common issues that SP1 resolved (slow copy
from network, etc.) that were definitely baked into the OS. If you have a
problem not caused by Vista, then the appropriate course of action is to not
keep looking to Vista for an solution. Sheesh.

You're kidding, right?

A MVP giving USEFUL or accurate advice in any Microsoft newsgroup is
as common as some ham sandwich showing up at a Jewish picnic. It just
don't happen that often. ;-)
