After installing IE 8 on our Windows 2008 Terminal Server from windows update
website, Internet Explorer's Enhanced Security Configuration was turned on
for all users on the server. Originally, under IE 7, IE ESC was enabled for
Administrators and disabled for Users. When I open up the Configure IE ESC
tool in Server Manager in shows that it is set to disabled for Users and
enabled for Administrators, but my end users are still receiving warnings in
IE that webpages are being blocked by IE. I have uninstalled IE 8 and
reverted back to IE 7 and the problem is still occurring. The only way I can
get the IE ESC disabled for my Users is to also disable it for Administrators
as well. Does anyone else have this issue? Any ideas on what IE 8 may have
changed during the install and not changed back after the removal? Any word
on a fix?
