Configure printer port

My Laserjet 2840 which was printing fine until yesterday, when I updated Picasa and Installed Zone Alarm Extreme Security update. I now cannot print although computer is connected directly to printer and when I check the printer's IP address, I just get "configuring." Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
