Configuring Updates Problem!!!

Hi,

My brother has an HP notebook computer which was running updates and when it
restarted to finish "Configuring Updates 1 of 3" and so on, It hangs on
"Configuring Updates 3 of 3". Then the computer shuts down after about 2-3
minutes and then restarts and comes back to the same screen "Configuring
Updates 3 of 3". It is in a never ending loop and we can't seem to get it to
finish. Is there any way around this?

Check this out:
Updates do not install successfully and your computer is continually
restarting when you try to install updates from Windows Update on a Windows
Vista computer.
