Configuring WSUS update installs for Once a Month

I have setup a WSUS 3.0 server and created a GPO against the OU that houses
the computers I want to get their updates from the WSUS.

The GPO basically is setup as the Microsoft WSUS white paper outlines what
needs to be configured.

However, my question is: I would like to schedule the download and Installs
to occur once a month on the computers. But, all I see is only a weekly
schedule. Either through the GPO or setting the GPO to allow the computers
Automatic Updates schedule to be used (which on the PC will only allow a
weekly choice).

How can I have it so that downloads and installs occur on a certain day of
the week?

THanks in advance,

Set it so it downloads and installs every day but only approve them for
install once a month.

Tom - or anyone else...

In review, am I correct in assuming you are referring to the "approval"
configuration in the WSUS server? If so, I cannot find where you can set a
time/date for the approvals besides what to actually approve.

Can you point me in the direction of 'where' you were referring to regarding
setting the approval to once a month?

Thanks,

There isn't - but you don't have to approve an update straight away. If you
don't approve the updates until the 1st of the month, they won't be installed
before then.

Or to refine this set it to install once a week and only approve during the
preceding week. Use the other weeks for testing

Note that you CANNOT schedule the download only the install.

What you can do is to create a scheduled task that stops the update service and start it once a month. After the updates, stop the serviceagain.
