I just could not help but send this note of congratulations to Microsoft
after purchasing 2 computers running Windows Vista. I have been using
computers both in my business and at my home for over 14 years now. It's
true... I am not sure how we ran businesses without them.
After purchasing my new Vista equipped laptop and desktop I can only say
congratulations to Microsoft. With the single act of releasing Windows Vista
to the world you have managed to make computing my single most dreaded
activity of the day. Watching with anticipation as my 2 ghz laptop chugs
along slower than my first 120mgz computer did running win 95 in 1994, and
wondering when it is going to crash again has become my obsession. My
productivity has dwindled to the point where typing this note is a worthwhile
waste of my time. I will never buy another windows based machine... EVER!

This is not Microsoft. It's a peer-to-peer public newsgroup staffed by
volunteers.

If you post specific problems and error messages you can probably get the
help you need.

What a stupid response. The user obviously needs Windows XP or even Mac
OSX. To suggest Ubuntu is a stupid idea. Ubuntu is for idiots.

This is a user-supported group, so your "note of congratulations" will not
reach its intended destination. Most if not all of the PC vendors provide
on their website at least the drivers you need to "downgrade" your computers
to XP. Some even provide instructions.

Cheers,

Earle

You should report the peoples who sold you those computers with bad drivers
so they can not sell to other customers. It is the responsibility of the
peoples who build the computer to be perfectly operable with the operating
system you choose. You don't have to blame Microsoft if the people who build
the computer don't know how to build good computer.Bye JP

Sure. Whatever. Particularly since neither Win95 nor 120 MHz Pentiums
were available in 1994.

Vista is different and there is a learning curve. It sounds like your new
laptop has some problems beyond just a learning curve. I'd return it and get
one that works. I'm typing this on a laptop that runs Vista with no problems
at all. I think you may be blaming the wrong party.
