I had a suggestion for a new feature in messenger. I'd like to be able to
connect to irc servers without using another application. It would be cool if
we could just do it through messenger, and have a tabbed window for both msn
conversations, and irc chat windows. Think that would be possible?

Greetings Mat,

Microsoft certainly won't be adding this as they haven't supported the standard IRC protocol
since last century. With a lot of lousy hacking you could probably add this but it wouldn't
look great, would perform badly and there would really be no point when you could just use a
real client like mIRC.

As I'm sure you're aware, there are some third party clients that do IRC already like
Trillian and Gaim.

An also unless you want windows live messenger to use a lot more RAM than
30+ MB
This is how its gonne be
The RAM is always the problem as many people use FireFox also that uses 30+
MB of RAM this is going to cause some strain on the computer isn't it

I surely hope they will make a client that we can choose the features that
it installs, Well say we don't want to use calling so on...
