Connecting PPC with Active Sync (Problem)

Hi,

I have a problem with connecting my PPC with Active Sync.
When I put my PPC into the docking station, Active Sync and the PPC are
going to connect, but after a few seconds (about 5) both are closing the
connection.
In that time, Active Sync says that the PPC is a guest. But I can't set up
the PPC in my Active Sync.
Why is this so? I already uninstalled Windows XP Service Pack 2, reinstalled
Active Sync (uninstalled with the uninstaller and the hints of
www.pocketpcfaqs.com).
But it doesn't work at all.
Please help me.

Greetings
Christoph

P.S.:
Sorry for my bad English, but I'm a German.

Hi,
Are you using a software firewall on the PC? This can prevent
synchronization from completing like you described. What's installed on the
PC that uses TCP/IP? That may give us a hint as to what to look at.

Hi,

I'm running a Microsoft Windows XP ServicePack 1 w/o a Software Firewall.
There aren't any other programs which block TCP/IP transfer.
My PC is a Pentium IV 1,3 GHz with 128MB RD-RAM. Maybe not enough RAM?

Greetings
Christoph

Hi,
With 128mb of ram the system is going to take a long time to respond to
events due to the swapping to the hard disk. I'd suggest getting more ram
if you are going to stick with this system. Ideally 512mb would serve you
best if you want to also run Office applications.

Finally, I suggest installing SP2 as well when you get a chance. I'd
install the ram first or it will take longer to install.
