I have a new HP Pavillion dv2000 notebook and I am trying to connect to the
wireless network on my Dell desktop. The network is shown as available (but
also unsecured), I select "connect anyway", but then I recieve a message that
"Windows cannot connect to" the network. I have not gotten any results by
troubleshooting via HP or Microsoft. I'm clueless.

I had this problem too and found that I had not set up my laptop in the
software of the wireless router that was on the desktop. Try going to
the desktop and bringing up your router software. It should tell you how
to add a compter.
Hope this helps. I don't know much, just learn from trial and error.

Good luck,
Debby

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 and i am using a westell all in one modem/
router. The labtop has a Broadcom 802.11 b/g card. Every labtop that i have
tried that wasnt HP could connect to my router. When i use a usb wireless
card on this labtop it will connect. Why cant i get the built in card to
work. Is there something i am forgetting to do or is HP just making crappy
products? O and the modem/router never came w/ any software to install.
