Connection error reported but am connected

I'm using Windows Live Messenger V8.0 (Build 8.0.0792.00) on Win XP Pro with
SP2.

I'm signed in, am online, and can see my contacts, they can see me.

If I hover the mouse pointer over the WLM icon in the notification tray I
get 'Connection error' displayed in a sort of bubble help message, rather
than the one I would expect to see such as 'Windows Live Messenger - Signed
in'.

Anything I can do about this? I connected to broadband via a ADSL UPnP
router (Draytek Vigor2800)

Thanks
Mike

Greetings James,

It's an ongoing problem and should be resolved soon I hope. In the meantime, you can use 7.5
to get in:

Sorry Noel, I know Jonathan is not from the official microsoft support, I guess I
should have worded it differently, sorry about that. we all appreciate the help
you're giving us trying to solve the problems we encounter.

No problem, Sylv - we all 'take shortcuts' occasionally - it's just that we
MVP's get a little sensitive if we get 'accused' of being employed by MS
(much as we may like the idea, we do value our independence - as,
thankfully, does MS!)
