Connection Via Cable

Recently got an 02, XDA mini which has Windows mobile 5.0 and activesync 4.0.
ive tried to instal activesync on my pc but it doesnt connect to the device
when connected. after searching it sayd your device was not detected. Any
ideas to help me?

Hi David,

First, its recommended you upgrade to ActiveSync 4.1. If you continue face
the error, then ensure the firewall ports are configured correctly. Refer

I just had this same problem myself with a different device, using a USB
cable. If it is the same problem, it is a result of having your device
already connected to your PC when you first install Activesync; you are
supposed to install Activesync first, BEFORE connecting the device in order
for it to find the correct drivers.

I corrected the problem using the MS knowledge base article #264693
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264693/en-us). Even though it's written for
an earlier version of AS, the basic instructions still work. I clicked on a
"Reinstall" button (there was no "Remove"). It worked immediately, without
having to restart the computer as the instructions say.
