Consent UI......stopped working

Hi,
I need help. My Vista suddenly has Consent UI problems. I'm getting this
error, "Consent UI for administrative application stopped working and was
closed". I don't know what caused this to happen.

This occurs everytime I open an application or open control panel. Can
somebody help me?

Hi--

This is due to a corrupt file. I would try running SFC. Other solutions
I've seen for this are to turn off UAC and that suggestion will draw a few
posts that immediately tell us UAC is the infrastructure of Security for
Vista so don't do that and I'd like you to be able to keep UAC on.

From an elevated cmd prompt type sfc /scannow (type cmd in search box and
when it comes up rt. click it and left click administrative).

Another solution is the regedit below (and in order to do it you'll have to
restart and tap F8 to get to Safe Mode because with UAC corrupt you aren't
going to be able to run regedit in regular windows.

.. Start, Run "regedit"
2. Expand and Navigate to
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Policies\System"
3. Find the value "EnableLUA" (Dword)
4. Set value to "0"
5. Restart windows

If none of these works for you, you can probably use Startup Repair from the
Vista DVD if you have one:

bootrec /Rebuild BCD
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /Fixboot

Hi,

I ran sfc /scannow as requested. I got this error message shown below. It
seems that some corrupted system files. Does this mean that the only way I
can fix this is to re-install Windows Vista on my PC? Please advise. Many
