If you have certain spec machine (not even considered ancient such as 1.6 GH
P3), Windows Update takes FOREVER. Obviously in the last 3 months I have
seen DAILY complains on performance and Windows Update - how much do you
guys want to wager that Microsoft will face a lawsuit on forcing upgrades -
even to Vista. Hmmm, sounds like conspiracy but it is very real.

It seems funny and laughable, but it is affecting
many users with older machines.

I still maintain and run an AMD k6 3+ from 1999.
When I use IE6/tools/windowsupdate and click on the
"Express" button. it can take 30 minutes before the list of
updates appear.

It wasn't always this way, it only started occurring when
automatic updates(win2k SP4) and WU V6 was
installed.
