Contact Blocking

If I were to block one of my contacts I understand that they would no longer
be able to see when I am online but I would like to know:

1) Would my screen name remain on their contact list (permenantly offline
and unchanging) and...

2) If so, would they still have the option of viewing my Windows Live Space.

I would also be interested to know, whilst asking: if one of my contacts'
Windows Live Space was previously accessible to me and then suddenly was not
any more, would that indicate that they have blocked me?

Thanks,
--
NICK

Greetings Nick,

Quickies here.
1: Yes.
2: Spaces will be unaffected. They'll still be able to access it.

So if I was previously able to access one of my contacts' Windows Live
Spaces, if not being blocked by them, what might suddenly have caused that to
change?

Specifically I find that the option to view the Space of one of my contacts
no longer appears and any attempt to access it through their 'Contact Card'
(which admittedly still displays blog and photo album updates, though
possibly no longer the most recent ones) results in a message stating that
access is either restricted or the Space no longer exists and a form is
provided to request access permission.

I was fairly certain this was evidence of blocking but, if not, can you
suggest why it may have occurred?

Sorry, and but curiouser and curiouser... I just received a help E-Mail from
the Windows Live Messenger technical support (which took them ages). It reads:

"Nick, you are correct when mentioned that when you block a contact your
screen name will remain offline and unchanged on their contact list. In
addition to that they also may not access your Windows Live Spaces. However
for your last question that if you previously can access their Windows Live
Spaces and suddenly was not able to access it meant that you are blocked by
that contact. Your contact may have been updating or remove his Windows Live
Spaces."

I'm afraid I'm very confused by all this.

Hi Nick,

Just ignore that, that's what's called the "I don't really know" answer.

Hi,

Actually I stand corrected. If you have your Spaces permissions set to 'Messenger' and
someone blocks you, you won't be able to view their space anymore as the 'Messenger' option
only allows those on the Messenger allow list.

Not sure if that changed from previously or what, but this is the way it is now.
