Is a contact notified when I re-add them to my contact list?

Hello there

On MSN Messenger, there is a contact that I really wanted to get ri
of, so I deleted, blocked and removed that person from my network

However I was annoyed that I couldn't delete this person from my bloc
list, and tried re-adding them to my msn contact list and deleting the
over again to see if that worked

Anyway question is, would this contact have been notified that
re-added them to my list? The contact has clearly blocked me, as I neve
see them online anymore, even though I know they have been online

I don't want the contact to have known, so I'm hoping MSN doesn't sen
them a notification

On another note, I've searched the forum and realised that there's n
way of my removing this contact from my block list (as I still appear t
be on their contact list) so I will have to learn to live with it. :

If you have both blocked and deleted each other from your contact lists, you
should be able to right click the person and see if the option to Delete is
no longer grayed out. If you are able to select this option you will
permanently remove the contact. If it is still grayed out, the other person
may have blocked you but has not removed you from their contact list.

As for being notified when you block, delete, re-add etc. - no, as long as
the person is still in your blocked/deleted list, then you can move them
around all you like without them knowing. Obviously, if at any point you are
able to do the permanent delete, then you would need to re-add them as if
they were a new contact in the future.

Thanks. It does seem strange though, that theres no way to permanantly
delete a contact if you are still on their list....

and why people have to keep you on your list when clearly you don't
want to talk to each other again!!! Grrr...

I don't disagree with you. But, there have been times I've been angry at
someone and I've blocked and deleted them (so I don't have to see them at
all) and when I've calmed down I've changed my mind. It is nice to be able
to go back and "undo" what was done without them having a clue.

If you know the contact really doesn't want to talk with you either, you
could email or IM them and ask them if they will block and remove you so you
can do a permanent delete. I've seen lately where it may take a couple of
days to display the Delete option but it does become available if you check
back.
