Contacts not adding to Messenger, previous contacts adding back.

A while ago I had a clean up of my contact list, deleting loads of people
from the contact list. Also deleting them from the hotmail contacts to using
the feature in WLM. Everytime I sign into WLM now I get all those contacts
requesting to add me again, I've tried canceling, accepting each one to allow
to see me but not add to contact list, but they just keep coming back. Also
when ever I want to add a new contact If I add them they don't automatically
add to WLM and the only option is to Email them. To make sure they properly
add to WLM I have to add them once, delete them fully and then add them again
to get them to appear as a WLM contact. This issue has been bugging me for
months, any solutions?

Before doing anything drastic either server-side ("list cleaners") or client-side, one thing
to attempt to try to resolve this is to sign in on another PC or another client like Windows
[not live] Messenger, Trillian, Pidgin, or aMSN. After signing in on one of these, see
exactly what happens and then go to Live Messenger and see if it's corrected itself.

If you've already tried either of these suggestions, what exactly happened when you logged
into the other client?

I have tried logging on from different PC's before but on those PC's the same
hundreds of requests still keep coming back up no matter what PC I log on
from. Windows Messenger and Web Messenger are both the same as well. The
requests just keep coming back, and wont correct itself whichever client or
PC I use.

Any more info you could share on this, I can't find no way to fix it.

have you tried to delete the contacts from Hotmail through www (i.e. through
web interface)? do they still come back? I would delete them first this way,
then in Live Messenger options under "Security" check the option "Don't
store my address book on this computer" and try to sign again.
