contacts problem

I have just installed windows live mail and imported all my contacts
from a comma separated file. My problem is that all the contacts appear
perfectly under the contacts tab but when I try to write an email there
are no contacts in my address book. Can anyone please help me sort this
out?

i.e.
- No Contacts when clicking on the To: field in a new message composition
window ?
- No Contact in your user account Contacts folder
- etc

If you open WLM and click on Contacts can you select a contact, right click
to select Send email and create a new email message ?
