Contacts showing w/out Messaging address

Why do I have contacts showing in my Friends group that do not have
messaging addresses? The only thing I can think of is that their mobile
number is connected to the "text messaging" option. This should be fixed as
"optional" and not a default. Almost every one of my contacts has a mobile
phone but they do not have messaging. Now I have all these contacts in my
Friend group that I don't want. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Reiner

Greetings Reiner,

Beginning with Windows Live Messenger, there are a variety of different types of contacts in
your contact list.

Including the normal Messenger contacts, Hotmail contacts ("non-instant messaging") and
mobile contacts.

The ones without addresses are the Hotmail contacts. However, you can quickly remove these.
Just open up the contact list, press Alt-C on the keyboard to bring up the Contacts menu,
choose Filter contacts and then choose Messenger contacts only.

Got it! Yes, this works. Now can you help with the contacts that have no IM
address but their mobile number is in the "Mobile device: Used for Text
Messages".

This would be okay if I could text anybody with a mobile number but I have a
lot of international numbers and WLM will not text outside of the U.S.
