Hi there,

Upgraded from XP to Vista and got problem with the DVD-drive and
DVD-RW-drive.

When switching the disc (CD or DVD) in the drive the content will not update
even if I klick the refresh button in the meny bar. The content of the first
disc are still there and if you try to open a file Vista will say that it
cant find the file. Ive only been able to clear the content by restarting
the computer and thats a pretty bad idea if you need to install a game set
on several discs.

A clue to what is wrong might be that I have not been able to get the drives
to autostart the disc inserted in the drive.

Have anyone experienced a similar problem and found a solution?

Thankful for answers,
/GusTheMagic

Gus,

The procedure described in the following Microsoft article may provide a
solution:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461

Post back on the results.

Hi:
This very simple one worked for me.
Open the Registry.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom
The Autorun value has to be set to 1
Close the registry, reboot.
There you go.
