Contents of Folders

Hello,

Just performed a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. One of my
first add-ons was Windows Live Mail. I really liked version 2008 better than
2009, but hey, it's cool.

My problem is that on my Windows 7 desktop I'm missing a lot of the
contents of the folders. Many folders are just empty. I've tried to sync
everything several times, verified the folders are set to sync, but they
don't get any of their contents. When I look online at Hotmail the contents
are there. When I look at Windows Live Mail on my laptop, the contents are
there (running Windows XP). When I look at Windows Live Mail on my other
Vista Ultimate 64 bit desktop, the contents are there. So, it only seems
that the folders are empty on my Windows 7 machine. All machines are running
the latest version of Windows Live Mail. I guess I could export from my
laptop or Vista machine and import to Windows 7, but that might create
duplicates....don't want that.

Does anybody have any idea why my folders are empty on Windows 7?

Thanks!

Thomas,
A few questions which you've probable already addressed but just in case.
1. Are you signing on to Windows Live in WLM with the same Live ID used for the Hotmail account ?
2. Is the Hotmail account setup as an Http account or Pop3 account ?

Hello Winston,

Thanks for the reply...I never got my email notification, so I apologize
for the delay in my response.

1 - Yes, Windows Live Mail is simply the mail client used to access my
various Hotmail accounts. I am signing in to WLM using the correct
credentials for each Hotmail account (as well as my GMail and ISP mail
accounts...WLM rocks).

2 - I am using HTTP access for all the Hotmail accounts.

As an update - When I was installing Ubuntu onto a separate partition it
messed up my boot loader, and Windows 7 would no longer boot. After much
work I discovered the problem was that the hard drive was using a GUID
partition table (I had previously loaded OS X on that drive) instead of an
MFT partition table. Once I completely wiped out the partition table I
carved out a partition and re-installed Windows 7. Everything seems fine. I
then chopped out a couple more partitions and loaded my Ubuntu and SWAP
drive, everything is fine except Ubuntu put the GRUB boot loader on my other
hard drive (with Vista) which was a minor inconvenience. I had to go into
BIOS and make the Vista drive the 1st boot drive, which then loads GRUB,
which presents me with the menu to choose my OS (Ubuntu, Windows Vista, or
Windows 7). Next step is to load OS X on to the last partition. I know I
know, I'm a nut ball. Who in the world has a quad-boot machine? Well me,
that's who...

Thanks,

Thomas,
Thanks for the update..glad to hear everything is fine.

My question on signing in was relative to signing on to Windows Live services in WLM with a Live ID but not the settings or WLM
using the respective email account settings to send/receive mail. The former is not necessary to send/receive mail, but it does
provide synchronization of that Live ID for contacts and calendar.
