Why does it take so long for the context menu to come up when I right click?
Is there something I can do to speed it up?

Hi, Merle.

WHICH context menu?

There are context menus everywhere in Windows itself and in most
applications, so which one are you asking about?

Problems with the context menu usually come from third-party programs which
have inserted something into it. Use the free ShellExView utility to disable
third-party context menus to troubleshoot. The links below may also help (it
doesn't matter that they reference XP).

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers -

Manage the context-menu entries for folders, drives and Namespace objects -

Thanks for the info Malke. I think I have a problem with AVG, I'm going to
check into it further. Thanks again.
