Continuing Security Update (KB931906 - CAPICOM)

Hope someone out there can assist. Put a new Dell laptop in place about 2
weeks ago, and after we pushed out some updates in our organization we have
this one laptop that is giving us some nightmares. It keeps asking to
install the KB931906-CAPICOM update, over and over again....approximately 10
times a day. We have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times to no avail.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so..PLEASE give me the secret.

Do a search for Capicom.dll. Does it show up in your System32 folder or does it show up under Program Files as a separate file.

Hi Peter:

We found the CAPICOM.dll in the following folders:

\\windows\system32
\\program files\common files\microsoft shared\capicom
\\program files\microsoft capicom 2.1.0.1\lib\x86

Per your inquiry, we found the CAPICOM.dll in the following folders:

\\windows\system32
\\program files\common files\microsoft shared\capicom
\\program files\microsoft capicom 2.1.0.1\lib\x86

Hello Lynen.

No, sorry I haven't found anything to help me with this problem. I have
spent numerous hours on it, researching, asking websites for help, and not a
thing. I am finally just going to give up, since it is only 1 machine, and
format this silly laptop. If you hear anything within the next week, please
let me know and thanks.
