Control I.D. not found sp3

when trying to update to the sp3, it stops and says - control i.d. not found.
installation did not complete.

This problem may occur if an antivirus program is running when you try to
install the Service Pack. When the Setup program tries to open a .cab file
the antivirus program puts a file/s lock on so that it can scan the file/s
for viruses.
Have you tried doing the update without the antivirus program running?
