Hi, I know this issure has came up alt in the past, but I still cant find a
solution.
Last week, after 12 months of working fine, my computer suddenyl would not
open control panel (at all) except in safe mode. It will not play cds without
crashing and itunes and pritners are causing a problem when trying to
operate.
I can not use system restore (error occurs)
I have checked that Software Licencing is set to Auto, and have also tried
"SFC\ SCANNOW" in command prompt, the results being: "Windows Resourse
Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"

Any ideas besides a clean reistall?

Many Thanks,

Try sfc again after you run the Recovery option for a Command Prompt, and
run the command CHKDSK /R to repair your hard disk.

Hi Rockostar,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936686/en-us

Follow the link to the KB article under "Resolution" and see if that
resolves the issue.
