Converting cda to mp3

Can you please tell me if there is a way to convert audio (cda) files to mp3
files in Vista. If not, does anybody know of any good free util's?

many times, the ripping software will allow you to pick what format the
files are ripped into.

You can use Windows Media Player to rip songs from the Audio CD. See this article.
