I'm trying to convert a PDF file to Word. I've found some converter programs
but when I try to save the PDF file, I can only save it as a text.

| PDF "format" is graphical and will not directly "transfer" into a Word
| document. Also, you posted this to a Vista group. Word was never
| delivered with any version of Windows, let alone Vista. Please re-
| post your question to an Office group or a Word one.

Not true!

It all depends on how the PDF was created.

If I created a PDF from a Word Processor then the words can be extracted.

If I create a PDF from a scanner then the PDF will be an image of the scanned text.
However if you create the PDF using Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat can perfrom OCR and create a
PDF in textual format.

There are third party utilities to convert PDF to MS Word format.

It also depends on type of word you are using. I bought Office 2007 student
version and my word saves documents as PDF's.

If you have that add-on instaled, yes.

However, this about going from PDF --> MS Word not the otherway around.

or try this one:

Free, you do need to register for a keycode, but there's no cost.

Take note of the previous post regarding graphic PDF's vs. text based
PDF's. If it's a PDF that was originally scanned, you will need some
sort of OCR application to pull the text out.
