Hi,
When copying a folder to a directory with the same name, it always asks me
if I want to merge the folder I am coping with the existing one. If I say
"NO", I can't continue. Is there a way to copy a folder with the same and
overwrite the destination folder without having to merge both directories? I
am assuming this is new in vista. Thanks.

When it askes that, it just applies to the folder not the contained files. It
will later ask if you want to copy over or copy both any files. Howver it
won't delete the contents of the folder that was there before the copy. Run a
test by creating a couple of test folders to see what happens.

If I want to completely overwrite and replace the existing folder with its
files, is it possible? I have tried unsuccessfully.

Hi Mitch,
I don't think so. I guess they figure if you are going to delete the entire
folder any way, just do that first.
