copying to a SD card

I'm trying to copy from My pictures to an SD card. The drive is recognised
but it keeps telling my that the disk is write protected. I've checked the SD
card and it isn't locked.
Any ideas would be appreciated

on my SD cards there is a very small switch I have to slide to unlock the
write protection, kinda like an old floppy LOL
Of that isn't it, I don't know
