Copying system

Does anyone happen to know what it takes to copy your restore partition? As
I have XP Pro for laptops from IBM my old one seemed set up in a rather odd
way (which I don't remember the details of) and I haven't a clue how to find
it on CD . (XP came on 9 IBM CD's which don't seem to be organized at all
like MS CD's.)

It appears that none of the imaging, copying, cloning programs will actually
copy your entire drive, just a partition at a time, which means that the
restore partition is missing. It appears that I have no restore system at
all.
