corrupt system file

I am attempting to run a program that was working in the past and am now
getting the following error message:

Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1).
error S0009: Metadata flie
'c:\Windows\addembly\BAC_MSIL\System.Xml\2.0.0.0_b 77a5c561934e
089\System.XML.dll' could not be opened -- 'File is corrupt'

I am running Vista Ultimate and have tried searching everywhere for a fix
with no luck. Running sfc /scannow tells me there are problems but that they
were not fixed and there does not seem to be an option in the repair when
booting from the installation disk to fix the problem. Any suggestions would
be of great help and appreciation

Hi Gbowman

I would recommend that you do a Repair install. This will allow you t
repair your Vista installation without losing your files, settings, an
programs. You can see how to do this in this tutorial
