Corupt downloads?

Everything I try downloading is corupt. I thought I should reinstall windows,
so I did, and now everything is nice and clean again, except that the problem
still persists- I can't download anything. The updates all fail, the
anti-virus stuff I download fails. My Trillian fails. Everything is corupt!

Please help, I'm at my wits end. Thanks

Assuming you installed mobo chipset and other hw drivers;
If its Nvidea disable/uninstall their Active Armor, and try again

Hello Malorie,

Are you using Nvidia firewall (nvidia network drivers)?

Best regards,
Michel Denie

You said you reinstalled WIndows XP and everything is nice and clean, and
then talk about Anti-virus applications and such.

Did you install any applications (firewalls, blockers, virus scanners, spam
monitors, ...) after you reinstall XP and contaminate it before trying to
update Windows?

Yeah, I reinstalled windows, and then tried to download anti-virus stuff
since I thought that might be the problem, but it corrupted so I deleted it.
As of now I have nothing on my computer but firefox, and as far as I know no
firewalls.

I was looking around on the internet, and the firewall seems to be the
problem other people are having, but I've looked all over and can't find one.

When you reinstalled, I assumed you reformatted and installed Windows XP
from scratch. You didn't do a repair installation.

I would remove some of the variables. After you reinstalled, you should
have tried to download using IE. If that worked, then you would be able to
determine that some of the applications you are installing AFTER Windows XP
is causing the problem.

If you are using the Windows Repair option, that is not reinstalling.

Hello Malorie,

Helping is kind of difficult if you do not anwer any questions or provide
detailled information.

Do you have a Nforce 3 or 4 based mainboard in your PC and if yes did you
install all the drivers from the mainboard cd rom?

Best regards,
Michel Denie

Yes, I reformatted it. Should I try reinstalling it again and just use IE to
see?
