What steps do I take to burn a backup disk with all the updates I have
received from Microsoft? I would want them to be bootable. I would like to
more secure knowing that all these updates are on disk to re-install in case
of an emergency.

There is an awful lot of downloads and updates, not to mention securities
for windows XP?

Not sure what you are going for.

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains tools you will/might need to
install/repair a Windows XP installation. You can integrate the Service
Packs and most Post-SP2 updates into the Windows XP installation media so
that you have everything installed from the 'start'. You can also download
all the patches/updates/newer applicationsd manually and save them to CD/DVD
seperately...

I have found the Windows Updates Downloader to work well. I also know how
to get the updates manually. The sites below could help you do so much with
a Windows XP CD/customize it/make a repair (bootable) CD/DVD/etc...

Good Luck. Enjoy.
