Hi, new to the forum and dont have much computer experience. But i
having this problem for Counter-Strike 1.6. I've downloaded steam an
got all the updates. When I try to connect to a server to play, the bo
would show "Establishing connection to network server.." with 3 bar an
froze. The only way out would be Ctrl+Alt+Del and End Task.

At first, I thou it was Windows Firewall and the router. After I'v
disable both, still no luck

A friend is having the same issue and hes also running Vista x64

Please help as I tried many times and many different methods.
My spec, Intel Core i7, Evga X58, EVGA GTX 285

Thanks

There seems to be a known problem with Steam client and Valve game
caused by Linksys routers
Add this parameter to each game you're playing: CS: Source, DOD: Sourc
etc
Right click on the game, select Properties from the context menu. Onc
in properties window click on [Set launch options...] button
Launch options window will appear. Enter the following value
+clientport 2700
Save it
Now it should work..

You can also try going to your router config page and see if there is
an option to open ports. On my router there is an option to open
gaming ports - I just need to pick the game from a dropdown box (in a
section called "Assigned Games & Applications") and click add. In this
case, I added "Half Life 2" to the list and it works... as CS:S is
based on the HL2 engine and uses the same ports:

UDP : 27000 - 27015
TCP : 27030 - 27039

Yup - don't snip out all of a thread's previous history. You're talking into
empty space.
