      10-04-2006
After defraging my hard drive, I now get a message that Windows may be
counterfeit. I have not had any problems for the last several years and I
always received updates

Which version of Symantec (nee: Norton) and which product is installed ?

Norton Antivirus 2005 or 2006.

Betty,

Is it 2005 or 2006 ? There are issues with Activation with NAV and
sometimes even issues with NAV saying it has expired or has not been
activated.
Boths issues stem from NAV, not from XP. Suggest you contact Symantec or
provide us with the specific version of NAV so that someone can assist
you here.

The issue is resolved. WGA Windows Genuine Updates were downloaded once I
submitted the Serial #. This had nothing to do with antivirus software.
