Hi all
29 and first computer ever owned so have some Q's,

1- when i shut down, a window quickly pops up and goes again does this mean
something is still open? maybe in missus account?

2- how to delete all songs in media center all at once.? (600) (want to
start again caus didnt edit songs before media center copied them and they
are all over the place takes too long edit 1 by 1)

3- should i leave my internet connection on all the time (broardband, aus)
or turn modem off?

4- any typing tutors in vista or free ones on the net?

5- can i turn off the fullscreen/minimise buttons in the corners of the
laptop mousepad? they are annoying. (toshiba satellite A200 - H01)

thanks heaps!

What does it say? It might be a running program or service that won't shut
down normally, which Windows kills.

Open your Windows Media Player music library. Mark all songs/albums/artists
and hit delete. In the dialog box that appears, chose 'delete from from
library and computer'.

That depends. If you're downloading something, using a P2P client, or just
depend on reading your email at once they're recieved, I would say no. If
there's no net activity going on on your computer, there's no reason to keep
the modem on.

You can find several on the net. Do a www.google.com search, and pick one
you like.

You should check this out on your computer manufacturers home site.

You may be able to find information about what happened in Control Panel >
System > Administrative Tools > Event viewer (event list). You could take a
look at Control Panel > System > Problem reports and solutions (problems
log) as well, just to see if something has been reported.

I'm not sure what you mean. What exactly did this flipdown window look like,
and what did it do for you? If it is Windows Sidebar with the gadgets you're
missing, you can open it from the start menu (under All programs >
Accessories).

no not the sidebar. when i used to go to the top of page with the mouse a
small seethrough window with the function keys f1-f12 used to show up and now
it doesnt? saved you pressing FN and then the F keys, and its gone.
might be a toshiba thing??

Yes, this is a Toshiba utility. Take a look at http://support.toshiba.com/ .
You should be able to download it from there, and then reinstall it.
