CPU Usage on the Performance Tab of Windows Task Manager is pegged at 100%.
even when I have no applications running. When I look at the Process Tab I
see that a process called "system" is using between 80 and 99%. Another
process called "system idle process" is using 0%.

In the past when the system was lightly loaded system idle processes would
show 99% free. I am not sure where this system process came from.

I jsut ran windows update a few days agao and pulled down the high priority
updates. I have diasabled all my utilities like Zone Alarm, etc but with no
effect.

I am very careful and have up to date firewalls, anti virus and anti spyware
software running. There is no network traffic to suggest that my PC has been
zombified.
