Crashing No Window

Help

If been cought out several times now after I have tryed to download xp
updates.

When ever I try to download the service pack 1/2 windows will not restart I
have to use my system recovery disk.... I am now on my third attempt and
thought i had beter ask some questions first can any one help!!!
