As for many other user, mine Windows Vista is also freezes at crcdisk.sys. Or
at least mine hangs for several hours, which is driving me crazy. And for the
last time, it seems to be never ending.
You should check the sys file, what is the bug caused by.
By the way what is crcdisk.sys for, and is there any way to turn it off?
