How to Create Auto Playlist for mpg files?

I go into the video library, click create auto playlist and set a criteria
to 'rating more than 1 star'.
When I use the playlist it shows only music files. Mpg files are ignored
even though rated.
If I set a criteria to 'file containing mpg' then I see nothing.

If I try to create a criteria based on file type then mp3,wma,wav are the
only options offered. Despite installing ffshow which allows me to play mpg
files in WMP11

Anyone any thoughts?
